The Rainbow House, by Ab Rogers Design in collaboration with DA. Studio, is a hideaway amidst the chaotic bustle of everyday. The architect described it as a "magical oasis... a parallel universe of fun, colours, movement and sensuality..."
In the heart of the house is the spiral staircase decked in full spectrum of the rainbow. And I love the part where at each landing, the hue spreads out to influence the colour of the particular floor - brilliant!
The play of colours against whites, the initiation of interactions, and the light being reflected is amazing in this space. I can't quite imagine how it would be like to live in a place like that, but I certainly wouldn't mind a visit and have a go at the slide!
