Chinese New Year is a couple of short days away. If you're in a typical Chinese household, there should be plenty of activities going on at the moment, from last minute shopping, to putting up the last touch of decorations; cheery new year tunes will be playing off the TV and radio while the kitchen is a heaven of food preparations for the big reunion dinner on new year's eve. There will probably also loads of people going in and out of the house, with children, relatives and family returning home for the festive holiday, and many red packets to fill, mandarin oranges to exchange, and cookies to devoured!
I spent a big part of this morning sending out personal new year greeting to close friends and family, with classic and contemporary new year songs playing off YouTube while I typed out each message. It was such a heart-warming task, and made me feel so much closer to home!
And to ride on the festive wave, I have put together a collection of images related to the celebration, so all of you can get a feel of the mood too! Here's wishing all Page Thirteen readers and supporters a Peace, Joy, Good Health and Great Prosperity for the Glorious Year of the Rabbit!
Gong Xi Gong Xi!
