Good morning dear friends! How are things on your end? We are still enjoying the mild and sunny weather in Brissie, and loving every bit of it! We visited Roma Street Parkland yesterday, and it was fabulously relaxing to roam amongst lush greens and bright coloured blooms right in the middle of the city. I'll show you some pictures of the flowers I managed to snap later.
I came across this cool and quick project over at Ikea's Life At Home - DIY spray-painted FOTO lamps - and I totally love how they turn out!
FOTOs are the classic industrial lamps from IKEA. They used to come in plain aluminium, but now they have dark grey and off white as well. If you have an old one at home, or any old lamp for that matter, try this out!
First, clean your lamp with a damp cloth, and leave it to dry. Then, put masking tape on the ends of the wire before you start spraying.
Make sure you protect your work area with drop sheets or newspaper. It is also important to make sure that the area is well ventilated.
You'll get a better, smoother result if you spray on a couple of thin coats, allowing at least 15 minutes of drying time in between.
Have fun, and soon you'll have a lamp in your favourite funky colour!
