Hello hello! Happy Friday dear friends! Today we're in for a treat! My favourite home furnishing store has just unveiled the latest designs for my favourite range - this is gonna be one happy post!
The IKEA PS range is a unique series; they can be a little quirky and artsy, not your standard mass-produced-commercial-looking-flat-packs, definitely not like a BILLY or LACK, which is why I love them so much! They are unconventional and unexpected, and so much fun!
The new IKEA PS 2012 range premièred last Thursday and will officially go on sale in early May. I have spotted quite a few pieces I would love to add to our collection (we currently have the Bruse coffee table, the Selma chair, the Skal dish and the Krona bowl, 2 Saga chairs and 1 Spika chair - hmmm, quite an assembly we have already!), and others are just beautiful to look at. Check them out below!
In coming up with designs for the 2012 collection, designers referred to past products and archives dating back to more than 60 years for inspirations, but at the same time also looking ahead through updating and renewing forms, functions and materials, with emphasis on sustainability. Wiebke Braaschs' 2012 IKEA PS chair for both indoor and outdoor use is one good example, inspired by the armchair CAVALLI which appeared in the catalog back in 1959.
I have my eye on those rugs - aren't they adorable? They are designed by Maria Vinka, who loves bright colors and dots (hey, me too)! And Ally is already planning to incorporate the side table, designed by Henrik Preutz, into our living room. They look really cool don't they, with in-built bowl and plant pots?
I don't know about you, but I'm definitely excited about this new collection, and can't wait for them to hit the stores so I can get a closer look!

I love all the bright colors. I'm heading to Ikea tonight after work. I'm so excited. Thank you for your hotel series. That was eye candy!!!!
