+ loving: Sue Ninham's Art

.
.
Happy Monday, dear friends! How was your weekend? I had a relatively busy but fulfilling one; hope yours was just as enjoyable and restful!

We spent Saturday night's earth hour basked in candlelight for an hour and a half because 'someone' remembered the time wrongly and switched the lights off half an hour early. We had the TV off too, and the quietness was actually pretty nice! Daylight savings also ended for us on Sunday morning, but it's taking the body a while to get used to the difference, and we found ourselves awake an hour too early these couple of days. I spent the time reading in bed before getting up to make breakfast this morning, and loved the extra time instead of the usual rush in groggy sleepiness!

Alright, enough about me! Time to share some cute quirky art with you!

I first came across Sue Ninham's work on this year's Adelaide Fringe poster, and found the theme and design really fun and refreshing. There was also an exhibition displaying more of Sue's art during the festival, and when I spotted the free postcards/exhibition invites at a local gift shop, Ally had to stop me from walking away with the entire stack! They were too cute!

Sue Ninham is an Adelaide based artist and works primarily with oil and watercolour. Her work explores form and colour through abstraction, and enjoys experimenting with content, materials and techniques. You can find out more about Sue over at her website.

I love the imaginative characters she's created, endearingly called 'Monsters'. The fact that each painting reveals the personality of the character with a name to suit just makes them a tad more friendly and lovable too!

I thought Reality Tee Vee was fun, and I've always had a thing for birds so I'm also a fan of the Feathered Friend. Have you spotted your favourite Monster yet?

Have a lovely day!
