Hello hello! Yes, I am back - finally!
I can't begin to describe to you how much I've missed this - Page Thirteen, blogging, and YOU! The past month or so's break has been hectic, and my schedule and daily rhythm blown off the grid; I loved the contrast - the energy, chaos, sounds, varieties - quite different from my organised and predictable little world here in Adelaide, but at the same time I was missing the simple balance we worked hard to establish. It was a little hard to imagine we once belonged to that life, and now we looked in, half an outsider, not quite a local.
In the past month, I experienced 3 family weddings and receptions, one Chinese New Year celebration, what appears to be more than the legal amount of food consumed at family dinners, luncheons and banquets; one hang over, one late night out, one happy hour (all separate occasions); many shopping sprees, 2 road trips to the same location on 2 consecutive weekends - *deep breath* there's more, but I think you got the idea - it was one busy but beautiful and enjoyable, eventful month for me.
Now can I have a 'real' holiday, please? I wish.
There's a Chinese saying '收拾心情' (clean up the mood), which means to re-collect oneself, clear one's mind, and focus on the task at hand. So! I'm gearing myself both mentally and physically to get back on my usual rhythm, with a few tweaks and adjustments in store for the blog, and I'm looking forward to share and be inspired again - hope you are too!
x. Shu

Welcome back Shu and Happy Year of the Snake! My family just celebrated Asian New Year (our term for it) since my brother-in-law is Vietnamese. We always have such a great time and eat a ton of good food. Hope you'll get a bit of down time after your whirlwind month!
