Bold & Stylish Brooklyn Townhouse

I want to share something with you today, and it's a little embarrassing; I think I'm having a case of 'blogger's block'!

At the back of my head I know why I'm feeling the way I do - I'm trying to do too much and overwhelming myself, ending up with nothing at all as a result! But knowing the reason and being able to break out of it are two different things, believe me... I read/heard somewhere that the first step to overcoming an issue is to acknowledge it, out loud. So there, I've acknowledge it, right here on the blog, at the very source of my 'problem', so let's move on now, shall we?!!

This historic brownstone townhouse at Lincoln Place caught my attention this morning, and seeing as not just anything could spark the inspiration interest this couple of days, I grabbed at the opportunity to share it with you.

Redesigned and renovated by The Brooklyn Home Company, this stylish and luxurious 4 story townhouse holds impressive value, with features such as floor to ceiling glass in the double height family room bringing in vast amount of light into the space; a master suit with a dressing room-walk in closet-lounge as large as the bedroom itself, with customizable closet arrangement; a garden studio apartment on the ground level with separate entrance, kitchen, bath and laundry, which can be rented out or serve as a private area for visiting guests.

What stood out for me most is the boldness in the way the home was styled and furnish. I might have a personal tendency of leaning towards the white, natural, slightly rustic-industrial-nordic look, but the strong vividness of this place, from the owners art collection which were carefully and creatively integrated into the project, to the selection of patterns, textures and color palette for each room, and the way each unique piece of furniture is showcased - BOLD - and they simply blew me away.

And I super love the custom made shoe rack - definitely something to have in my own closet one day! x. Shu

  1. I know the feeling of overextending yourself to the point of spinning your wheels. It's a bad feeling. I hope that you're able to prioritize what you want to keep doing and what to let go of. Thanks for the pics of the townhouse. I lived in a rental in Boston that looked like those pics with all the beautiful woodwork and large rooms. I wish we had buildings like that on the West Coast. It would be fun to paint one room that hot pink. Very cool!
